Details The Story Goes Something Like This by Malcolm Stokes ... 2018 The previous owner told me he swapped it with a man in Christchurch NZ and that it could have come from the Lyttelton gaol (jail), an important shipping Port not far from Christchurch city. There is no proof of this, but if you choose to believe it you will enjoy the jail history. A more logical explanation is that this lock was used on a English estate gate. How it made it's way to New Zealand is yet another mystery.
