This lock contains a solid lockdog. This lock contains a thin bottom ward ring concentric with the key pin. Set screw holding the keyhole cover is threaded and removable. There’s unique stamping (almost unfinished information) on the shackle. No patent date. Small traces of gold electroplating on lock body. I have every reason to believe that lock was a low production run made just prior to 1882. The absence of a drain hole was a huge oversight.
