1 3/4″ wide. 1) They are both WB model #523, but one has the earlier 1886 plaque logo (on the front). 2) The first ones plate seems to be soldered in place, while the second ones is cast in. 3) There are some similarities in the numbers (Ds and Ws, 9W) 4) the plates are both octagonal.
